Factiverse wins Rogaland Innovation Award 2025 for impactful AI

We are honored to announce that Factiverse has been awarded the Rogaland Research and Innovation Award 2025!

This prestigious recognition highlights the Factiverse mission of strengthening democracy through cutting-edge fact-checking technology to protect key institutions against the growing threat of misinformation.

The award was granted based on two major achievements:

Analysis of the 2024 US Presidential Debates: Our AI-driven technology provided real-time insights into misinformation and fact-checking during one of the most high-profile political events, empowering voters with accurate information.

Participation in the NATO DIANA Program: Through this collaborative initiative, Factiverse is contributing innovative solutions to address global security challenges, furthering the role of AI in protecting democratic values and enhancing resilience to malicious actors.

Along with this award, we received prize money of NOK 100,000 and a public recognition of our efforts in this space.

This award demonstrates the real-world impact and necessity of AI-driven fact-checking technology.

The award ceremony was presented by County Mayor Ole Ueland and NHO Rogaland Manager Tone Grindland. From the Factiverse team, Tobias Tykvart and Henrik Vatndal accepted this award on behalf of the team.

Tobias highlighted in his acceptance that since companies like Meta are winding down their Fact-checking initiatives, companies and democracies need to take more of an active role in defending themselves from misinformation.

A sentiment shared by the entire team at Factiverse.

Factiverse CEO Maria Amelie, had this to share: “Receiving the Rogaland Research and Innovation Award is a huge honor for Factiverse. This recognition reaffirms our belief in our mission to protect democracy through our fact-checking technology. At Factiverse, we are proving that AI can be a powerful tool in protecting democracy against misinformation.”

We would like to thank our supporting organizations like the University of Stavanger. Næringsforeningen i Stavanger-regionen and Validé AS for their continued support and dedication to Factiverse.

Their continued support of Factiverse has not gone unnoticed and we appreciate having partners that closely align with our mission.

We look to our continued collaboration and partnerships so that we can make tools that protect our democratic institutions and civil liberties.
